Amazing tours in Southern England

Introducing specialist tour guide, Graham Horn

I’m Graham Horn, a specialist and fully qualified Blue Badge tourist guide for the South West, South and South East of England. That area stretches from Cornwall to Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire to Kent, and everywhere else in between.

I run this website, Tours 2 order.  Our ultimate goal is to ensure you and your group have the perfect day out.  We fully customise all of our tours to suit your exact interests, preferences and needs.

Your guided tour can cover landscapes as varied as the Cotswold Hills, the Chiltern Hills, the chalk downs, the New Forest, the moors of the South West and the Somerset Levels. We can guide you through historic towns and cities as diverse as Exeter, Bath, Salisbury, Oxford, Windsor, and Portsmouth, and not forgetting the stunning scenery of the whole of England’s South Coast and the Great West Way.

Our tours are focused on delivering your perfect experience

Some people like day-long walks through stunning rural landscapes; others like shorter half-day tours of historic towns and cities. Whether you’re looking for the best views, the most amazing stories or to learn about the history and culture of a place, we can create the perfect day for you and your group.

Every tour is different and specially tailored to your group, requirements and interests. Beforehand we will have discussed what tour you’d like, how long it will be and how much it will cost. You can tell me about the type of people in the group and any special arrangements we need to be aware of.

We have tours that are suitable for people of all ages, levels of fitness and interests. It really all starts with a conversation between us so we can ensure your group has the perfect day.

What to expect on a guided tour:

On the day, we will meet you at the start point (this can be a railway station, landmark, hotel or B&B) at the agreed time. Immediately we will aim to establish a rapport with the group, and talk to you, the group organiser, to confirm your expectations.

We will take charge of the group and all of the arrangements for the tour, including liaison with places we will visit and with the driver (if it is a coach tour). You and your group members can just enjoy the tour.

Depending on the size of the group, we will either chat while we are walking along, or for larger groups, we will stop frequently to show you something or tell a story. No-one will be left behind. Sometimes we will use a whisper set, and of course, on a coach, we will use the microphone provided so that everyone can hear.

Safety priority and Covid-19 precautions

Additionally, for your safety Graham holds a St. John Ambulance First Aid Certificate and Public Liability Insurance through the British Guild of Tourist Guides.

Furthermore, in the post-Covid-19 situation, we have a Visit England “We’re Good to Go” certificate which demonstrates that Tours 2 order is a responsible business and has taken measures to keep your safety as a priority.

A few of our favourite tours:

Tours along the Great West Way

The Great West Way is an amalgamation of the most stunning scenery, incredible activities and interesting stories. The route runs from London to Bristol and includes touring options by foot, road, rail and water.

There is truly something for everyone along The Great West Way, and this tour route can be explored as a whole journey or in shorter half-day or day long sections.

Five Bs and an abbey

“No town in the south of England hides its attractions more successfully from the visitor.” This is Poet Laureate John Betjeman’s description of Reading, my home town. Then he goes on to say “but careful exploration is rewarded”. Let me help you discover the reality of this statement with a tour that takes in the ruins of the former great abbey and reveals not just Reading’s 3 Bs but five.

A river or a canal? You choose

The River Thames and the Kennet and Avon Canal. Two of Southern England’s premier waterways on the doorstep. The River Thames – “Liquid History”. The K&A – John Rennie’s engineering legacy. Vastly different in character, but each with a wealth of gems to explore on foot, by train or by boat.
